09/10/2011... So here we are, our Indie GoGo campaign has wrapped up and it's been a HUGE success. We couldn't have done it without your support. Words can't express how happy we are to be able to head back into the studio and finally finish up what we started what feels so many years ago. We're sure you'll all be as happy with the end result as we are going to be. The final song selection is still being picked (we have too many to appear on one album!) and then it's hitting the studio to finish them up. Then it's off to mastering, doing the artwork for the CD, mass production, and all that other fun stuff. If you haven't already you should be hearing from us shortly on the tier prizes and how/when they will be distributed. Obviously the CD based ones can't be given out until that's completed. Other than that, like we said, we're all very excited to be hitting the studio to get this going again.

We will also be hitting the southern RI next weekend to film the video for our upcoming single Flora, which we will keep you posted on when it's getting close to release. Again, thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you and your friends at our upcoming shows!

05/31/2011... Hi everyone out there in Sloane land! Not sure if you've stumbled upon our little campaign we have going on or not, but if you haven't heard, we're trying to raise a little money to help finish our full length. You know, the full length we've been promising and you've been looking forward to? Well unfortunately for us it's not free, but fortunately for you, you can be part of it! That's right, head on over to our Indie GoGo Campaign page and you will be able to help by donating to our cause. And what in return do you get you may ask?!? Well that all depends on what you give. There are all kinds of great things, from an early release of the CD, to a personal live performance, to even having your name on the inside of the CD!!! There's still time, but it is running short so HURRY UP! You don't know how grateful we are for your support over the years and for any donation you can give. Thank you and we look forward to rockin' some more for you in 2011!!!

04/02/2011... The snow has melted and we have awoken from our hibernation. Come the end of this month we will be hitting the scene again with our first show of the new year and our first show with Michelle so keep April 29th open and head on down to the AS220 in providence and give her a warm welcome. We should also have some exciting news in the upcoming days regarding the full length and possibly a movie soundtrack so be sure to check back either here or visit us on our facebook page. That is all for now, bye!

11/24/2010... ok, it's time for the big annoucement... For the Love of Sloane would like to introduce the newest member of the family, Michelle Salgueiro who will be taking a permanent spot as bassist for the band. This is why you have heard so little from us in the past couple months... we have been busy holding auditions, and we are glad to welcome her into our family.

06/29/2010...   Hello everyone in the Sloane fan camp! We've got some exciting news for you! We've got a crazy summer ahead of us, with some incredible shows... we have a breast cancer benefit coming up in July at Ri-Ra's in Providence, RI. We also have the comeback show for our friends SEXCoffee. Add to that an upcoming show at Six Flags New England and finally... and are you sitting down? Thanks to all of you and your awesome support and voting on Ourstage.com we have landed a show at Lilith Fair on August 1st in Hartford, CT! Yes, you heard that right. How great is that?!? And to think it's because of fans like you guys that we got there. We can't say THANK YOU enough!!! You can purchase tickets for the Hartford show here. Anyhow, we look forward to playing for you guys and hope that you look forward to hearing us. Thank you again and keep checking back for updated information and remember, you can always find an updated show list on our gigs page!!!

04/15/2010... Wow, is this date right? Has it really been over a year since we've gotten around to updating this? I guess it has been. Well, and for good reason... we've been busy and not busy, both at the same time. As most of you probably have heard or have figured out, we did not win the 95.5 WBRU Rock Hunt. We did however win the 90.7 WXIN Rock Hunt, along with also being voted Motif Magazine's 2009 Breakthrough Band of the Year. Oh, and lets not forget we were nominated by the Providence Pheonix for their 2009 Breakthrough Band of the Year and we also won the 2009 NewportRI Rocks Battle of the Bands. We've continued to place well on Ourstage.com, placing within the top 10 out of over 1,400 entries with our song So What If... We also hit the studio to do a quick single recording for our song Girl on Fire, and to also work on the full length, which while taking longer than expected is coming along nicely. We have shifted studios and are now recording at Strangeways Recording and are very happy with the results that owner/engineer Mike Poorman has been doing for us. Finally, the last major musical related note we have to mention is we have signed on with a management company. We are now proud to be part of the Make It Rain Inc. family, along with our friends VulGarrity and SEXCoffee, two great bands you should be sure to check out if you haven't yet. We feel this is going to be a great move for us, as we've watched the other two bands grow and we know what owner Rene Dupont can do. We're hoping he can do the same for us! Well that takes care of the "busy" portion...

...and now for the "not busy" portion. It's been a great year for all four members of the Sloane family. Within the last year there have been 3 engagements and 1 birth! That's right ladies (and men), we are all officially off the market. Sorry! :-) Stephen got engaged to Renee, Elese got engaged to Steve, and Jay got engaged to Kat. Also, Nick and Kim gave birth to another beautiful daughter. Ok, maybe this isn't quite "not busy". While we almost lost Nick due to some personal issues, we were able to resolve them and are happy to say we're all still here and all still making the music we hope you love to hear. Because of this we took 3 months off to regroup, do some writing, some resting, and just give ourselves a little space as it was a very hectic year for us.

Anyways, that's where we stand. Be sure to stay tuned to another Sloanetastic year and be sure to check us out if you haven't yet! Thank you!

03/26/2009...   Well, well, well... lets see here... do we have anything to talk about... oh yeah, now we remember. There's this "little" event that takes place every year called the 95.5 WBRU Rock Hunt and in case you haven't heard, we were picked as semi-finalists! Well, on March 20th we played our show (against The Intel and Girl Haggard) and things went well. Actually, they went better than well and we were moved to the finals!!! This will be held April 4th at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel in Providence. We will be playing against 3 other great bands, Baylock, The Viennagram, and Fairhaven. No one knows how it will end, but we do know it's going to be a great night and one you should not miss. Win or lose, we're putting on our best show yet and are going to be heard by current fans, potential new fans, and some very important people. This could be a huge step forward for us so wish us luck, WE WOULDN'T BE HERE WITHOUT YOU GUYS!!!

Also, we are once again taking part in the RIC Rock Hunt. Our show will be April 7th, and much like the WBRU Rock Hunt this show is also all ages so if you can make it out to that show we'd really appreciate the support.

Lastly, we're planning on taking a break from gigs during the month of May so that we can work on some new material and figure out our gameplan for getting back into the studio to finish our full length. We currently plan on working with both Billy and Johnnie from the now defunct White Noise Records. They're responsible for the great work on our song So What If... (which incidently also hit #1 on Ourstage.com and is getting airplay on WBRU. Our current plans are to have the full length done and in your hands by the fall of 2009.

We will keep you all informed on any changes and updates, but until then keep rockin' and thanks!

02/05/2009...   So we're finally getting around to giving some updates for the new year (it's been crazy and is just getting crazier!). We've started playing a lot of new venues for us (Harper's Ferry, Ground Zero, The Beach House, AS220, JR's Bourbon St Rock House, Firehouse 13... just to name a few) and we're booking shows at what appears to be an alarming rate. Don't get us wrong, we're loving it and are extremely glad that we are getting the support and getting to entertain everyone. We were also invited down to 90.7 WXIN for a short in studio interview to discuss our upcoming events, recordings, and happenings, along with having the pleasure to perform a little acoustic set for everyone. Anyhow, our next big venture is up north to Allenstown, NH for a show at Ground Zero with a couple other great bands, so we're very excited for that.

Also, on April 7th we will once again be participating in the RIC Rock Hunt at Firehouse 13 so please be sure to set that date aside and come out and support us. We finished 4th last year, and we're hoping this year we'll do better.

In other "voting related news", our newest single, So What If..., is currently on Ourstage.com and we're looking for some votes so if you get a chance, hop on over and give us a little support. You can find us in the Alt Rock category.

Lastly, we are about one or two songs away from having enough material for our full length so hopefully we will have a more definitive date in a couple months. We're hoping for a fall release.

Well, that's it for now. We will try to keep you updated on the happenings a little more frequently (we've just been so busy) and we look forward to seeing everyone out at some of the shows. Again, thank you for all the support, we really do appreciate it!

11/20/2008...   It's been a bit too long since the last update so we thought we'd give you all a little info on what we've been up to. We've recently finished the final mix of So What If... for the upcoming Scene II compilation, and we're well on our way to having enough material for our full length. Technically we have it now, but there is some stuff that we feel could be better so we'd like to over write and then have the ability to pick and choose. Also, we've been playing quite a bit so we'd like to thank all the other local bands we've played with as well as the venues, and most importantly the fans, for their support. It's always good to get up on stage and put on a great show for everyone. Other than that not too much else has changed so just keep an eye on the MySpace page for band updates, song releases (including the studio release of So What If... - when we're allowed to release it that is!!!), and upcoming shows.

On a final note, one of our favorite local bands The Weakest has recently called it quits, so if you haven't given them a listen, hop on over to our MySpace page, locate them in our friends list (We'd provide their direct link but we do not have it readily available) and give them a listen. Perhaps with enough feedback they'll be back!

07/01/2008...   Hello everyone... there's been quite a bit going on at the FTLOS camp! Between now having a number of shows under our belt, to releasing our first EP (Bitter), to signing up with White Noise Records for the 2nd "The Scene" Compilation CD we've been rather busy. We've been playing in RI, have had a show in NYC, and are currently planning a potentially huge gig for us. We can't release the details yet, but if it falls into place it would b a beautiful thing. Also, for those of you who have not gotten it yet, our first EP Bitter is available for download on iTunes. There are 5 songs @ .99 each, well worth the price if you ask us!!! We have a few CDs left, but they are going quickly so if you wish to purchase one, please contact us ASAP. Lastly, as we mentioned we are going to again be featured on the next compilation CD released from White Noise. We will be heading back into the studio in July to record "So What If..." for it. Look for more info about all our upcoming events and releasing either here or on our MySpace page.

04/03/2008...   Oh, so much has happened. For the most updated info you can always check our myspace page, but for now I'll give a quick recap of what's happened in the last couple months. First off we've parted ways with Chris (Pico). We wish him the best, and he's still in his other band The Age so be sure to check them out. Second, we have our first gig now under our belt. We played the Living Room in Providence, RI on 3/24/2008. It went well, we had a great time, and want to thank everyone that made it out. Unfortunately we didn't make it to the next tier in the battle of the bands but that's not going to stop us from rockin', and as proof of that we have a show in NYC at Arlene's Grocery in early May. We'll give more info about how you can watch it live over the web when we get the details. Lastly, we're heading back into the studio to finish up our CD finally. As many of you are aware we were not happy about the quality of the recording on the compilation CD, but we're going to remedy that. White Noise has agreed to allow us to rerecord and remix and master everything. They are also allowing us to throw one more song on the CD so when it's all said and done we'll have a nice 5 song EP for everyone. Anyhow, with that said, we are out and look forward to seeing everyone at the next show. Later!

03/26/2008...   We want to thank everyone that made it out to the Living Room last night to see us. Without your support the night wouldn't have been as much of a blast as it was, so thank you all!

12/14/2007...   Official relaunch of the new website!!! Also, to go along with the new site, we will be at Lupos @ The Strand in Providence for the CD Release Party of the The Scene: Recorded. Remixed. Reborn. After this (not literally) we will head back into the studio to finish up recording the final songs for our first E.P. We hope to see some of you out there tonight!

10/19/2007...   We’ve finished a home recording for the song Ghost, another that will be recorded in the studio once we return back at the beginning of next month. We hope you enjoy it.

10/08/2007...   We’ve uploaded some photos to the myspace page from our first session of recording at www.whitenoiserecords.com, we hope you enjoy them.

10/01/2007...   We’ve started recording our E.P. at White Noise Records in Johnston, RI. The first of three or four tracks has been recorded and now just needs to be mixed. This track will also be appearing on an upcoming compilation of local bands. For more information check out White Noise Records at www.whitenoiserecords.com
